Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan og Erwan Bouroullec er to samarbeidende franske designbrødre og blir sett påsom to av verdens viktigste designere som lever i dag. Til tross for deres unge alder har de allerede samarbeidet med store møbelselskaper som Vitra, Cappellini, Kartell og Magis for åskape alt fra veggdekorasjoner til møbler og interiør.

Designene deres er ofte høyst originale, en av dem er veggdekorasjonen eller romfordeleren Algues (Alger) for Vitra som er en storselger hos Nordiska Galleriet.

Ronan og Erwan ble født i 1971 respektive 1976 i Quimper. Rett etter uteksamineringen fra École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs i Paris startet Ronan sitt eget designstudio der lillebroren, som fortsatt studerte, assisterte ham. I dag har de et felles studio basert i Paris hvor de driver designstudioet med et team på6 personer. De har jobbet sammen i 15 år og deres ambisiøse design drives av interessen for hverandres ulike personligheter.

I 1997 fikk brødrene sitt første profesjonelle oppdrag av designmerket Capellini. I 2000 jobbet de med Galerie Kreo hvor de et år senere hadde sin første soloutstilling.

Brødrene Bouroullec har stor bredde i sine design, der de skaper alt fra smådesignobjekter som smykker til arkitektur i fullskala, samt kunsthåndverk i form av videoer og fotografier. De jobber ofte sammen med Galerie Kreo for åutvikle sitt eksperimentelle design. Mange av Ronans og Erwans verk er en del av de permanente utstillingene påmange moderne museer over hele verden, blant annet Museum of Modern Art i New York, Art Institute of Chicago og Musée National d’Art Moderne - Centre Pompidou.

Brødrene har mottatt mange prestisjetunge priser og utmerkelser, blant annet "Årets skaper" ved Salon du Meuble i Paris 2002, "New Designer Awards" ved International Furniture Fair of New York 1999 og le Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris 1998.
